Carla Arlien, Ph.D.

Carla Arlien, Ph.D. is a neuropsychologist and founder of Apex Neuropsychology Center, which is located in Poland, Ohio.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a Gerontology minor from the University of North Dakota and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Arlien completed her internship and fellowship at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System.

Dr. Arlien is a member of the American Psychological Association, National Academy of Neuropsychology, and Ohio Psychological Association.  She has served as an expert witness in personal injury cases.  In addition, Dr. Arlien has conducted presentations on a variety of topics including: Concussion/Traumatic Brain Injury, Alzheimer’s Disease/Dementia, Memory Loss, Brain Health, Caregiving, Decision Making Capacity, Chronic Pain, Psychotherapy, and Mental Illness.

Dr. Arlien specializes in diagnosing cognitive disorders including Dementia/Alzheimer’s Disease, assessing cognitive and emotional functioning after one has had a Concussion/Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), providing psychotherapy to injured workers, and conducting Independent Medical Exams (IME’s).  She primarily treats adults and geriatric patients.

Dr. Arlien accepts most health insurance plans. In addition, she is a certified Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation (BWC) provider. Self-pay rates are available for those without health insurance coverage.
